Pokémon-Alma
Guessing Game
Project Overview
During company happy hours, the team got hooked on a popular daily Pokémon guessing game. The catch: one puzzle per day, then you wait until tomorrow. We wanted to keep playing. So I vibe coded our own version — with no daily lock and multiplayer built in.
// My Role
Independently designed and AI-built a multiplayer game in just a few hours, developing the concept, game logic, and multiplayer flow from scratch.
I designed and vibe coded the entire game solo in a few hours, no prior coding experience. I used AI to build it, handling concept, game logic, and the multiplayer flow from scratch.
// Problem
The original game limited play to one daily puzzle, preventing groups from continuing to play together.
The original game was fun — but it was built for solo, daily play. One puzzle, one answer, then you're locked out until the next day. That completely killed the vibe when a group wanted to keep playing together.

Observing Real Player Behavior
I didn't run a formal study, the research happened organically.
I watched how my teammates played, where they got frustrated, and what made them light up during happy hours.

Key Insight
The fun wasn't just in guessing the Pokémon, it was in the back-and-forth with teammates. The daily lock killed the social momentum right when it was building.
Design Opportunity
How might we let teammates keep playing together for as long as they want without artificial limits?
// Final Product
A Multiplayer Pokémon Guessing Game with Unlimited Rounds
The final game combined both ideas, unlimited rounds with no daily gate, plus a multiplayer room where teammates join a shared session and race to guess the same Pokémon.

// Impact
The game became a happy hour staple.
The game quickly became a happy hour staple. What used to be one frustrated round turned into full sessions of teammates racing to guess the same Pokémon — no more waiting until tomorrow. The shared multiplayer experience made each round more competitive, social, and fun.

Key Learning
Artificial limits in games kill social momentum — removing them changes the whole experience.
Multiplayer isn't just a feature, it's a different product entirely.
Vibe coding with AI lets designers prototype real products, not just mockups.
